This was my final Birchbox. I just don’t use hair stuff/make-up that often so the $10 a month was kind of a waste. I ended up giving most of my samples from the six months I subscribed to my little sister for Christmas though.
November’s Birchbox theme was “Give” (for Thanksgiving). I only kept one of the items in the box (Harvey Prince Eau Flirt). It also included ModelCo SHINE Ultra Lip Gloss, Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray, Shea Terra Organics Whipped Shea Butter Body Creme, and a Chuao Choolatier Honeycomb ChocoPod.
Birchbox partnered with goop for this month’s box. (The only thing I know about goop is that it’s about food and Gwyneth Paltrow is associated with it.)
- Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
- DDF Brightening Cleanser (big bottle!)
- per-fekt Beauty Lip Perfection Gel in Melrose (tiny tiny sample)
- Miracle Skin Transformer SPF20 Face
- LUNA Fiber Chocolate Raspberry
- Mighty Leaf Tea Assorted Teas
This month’s stuff was just OK. I actually haven’t tried any of it yet. I will use the cleanser when mine runs out and I will take the face stuff with me when I travel. I will eat the fiber bar and drink the tea soon! We’ll see if the little sample of lip gloss ever gets used.
I was pretty annoyed because my Birchbox came very late this month. It usually arrives on the 10th but I think it came the 18th. Boo! Anyway, it was nicely packaged as always… I got six little surprises (plus a music download that I’ll probably never use).
My favorite was the Twistband hair tie. I have worn it every day! I might buy more, depending on the price.
Close seconds were the Color Club Birchbox Custom Polish and Kate Spade New York Twirl perfume. I love the perfume minis that actually have a spray function! (And I already ran out of my Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy La Fleur from August.) And who doesn’t love polish?
I will definitely use the Tili bag that was the Lifestyle Extra this month. You can never have enough Ziploc-type baggies. On my next trip I’ll pack the WEI to Go Sleep Over Kit. The cleanser will certainly come in handy although anything with the word “tint” in it scares me some I’m not sure about the moisturizer.
My least favorite was the Sedu Anti-Frizz Polishing Treatment with Pure Argan Oil. I just don’t usually use hair products. But I’ll try it out.
I just love getting surprises in the mail every month!
I really love four out of six of the items I received:
The Schick Hydro Silk razor is awesome. My legs have never felt so smooth!
The WEI Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask made my face feel so soft and silky!
The Beauty Fixation Cuticle Conditioner swabs are very cool. You snap one end of the swab and the oil flows to the other end so you can soak your cuticles with no mess!
I like the Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy La Fleur because even though it’s a little sample bottle, it sprays the perfume! The wild berry, mandarin, and waterlily scent ain’t too bad either.
I haven’t tried the WEI Pomegranate Buffing Beads. You are supposed to add them to your cleanser but I already use an exfoliating cleanser. So I will take them with me next time I travel and use them with a travel-size cleanser that is non-exfoliating.
I didn’t care for the stila stay all day 10-in-1 beauty balm, foundation, & concealer. I don’t use foundation or concealer and the sample was a tiny one like you would tear out of a magazine.
I am REALLY late posting this but better late than never, right?
For July, Birchbox teamed up with Glamour (one of my favorite magazines) and created “the senses” theme.
boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens
Love them! Great for when you’re sweaty and on the go.
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner
I don’t wear eyeliner but I gave it to my sister and she loves the bright purple color!
Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint
Haven’t used this yet but I’m looking forward to trying it out!
Oscar de la Renta live in love
Love this floral perfume!
I don’t like bananas so I gave this fruit and nut bar to my (now ex) boyfriend.
Birchbox Exclusive Earbuds
I was super excited about the neon headphones in my fave colors but… The sound quality sucks.
This was my first Birchbox and I was quite pleased with its contents.
My favorite item is the Cynthia Rowley Dress Up Band-Aids (Lifestyle Extra). How cute! And it was a full-size box with 20 Band-Aids. (Regularly priced $15!)
theBalm cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen is a lip color I might actually wear; very subtle.
I opened the John Varvatos Star USA cologne (Birchbox Man Extra) and love the scent. Hope my boyfriend likes (and wears) it!
I haven’t tried the other items yet but I am excited to: Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream (I have tons on my thighs so I need it), CleanWell Individual Hand Sanitizing Wipes (I’ll carry these in my purse), and Scalisi Skincare Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (I am turning 30 in a month!).
