Movie Review: The Cabin in the Woods

I heard this was one of those rare “good” horror movies so I wanted to check it out.

From Rotten Tomatoes: Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes The Cabin in the Woods, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 91%
Ken Hanke rating: 3 stars

Verdict: 3 out of 5 stars. I really liked this movie at first. It was scary and creepy with an extremely unique plot. I was intrigued and wanted to know all the details about the people who set up this “live” horror movie and why. But the ending pretty much ruined it. Ancient Gods who demand extremely detailed and ridiculous sacrifices or the world ends? Please.
