Big Bend National Park, TX
Daniel and I visited Big Bend in March 2009. West Texas is awesome!! So desolate and remote.
First we stopped in Marfa, which was becoming pretty famous at the time as No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood were filmed there. We went to see the middle-of-nowhere Prada “sculpture” and even saw the Marfa Lights!
While visiting Big Bend, we stayed in Terlingua. We hiked several trails and went rafting down the Rio Grande. We even got to stop on the Mexican side! An awesome trip, and definitely the nicest part of Texas.
My mom and I stopped for a night in Balmorhea on our way back from her Grand Canyon 50th birthday trip in May 2008. Balmorhea is famous for its huge spring-fed swimming pool and we definitely enjoyed it!
My friend Tessa and I visited Baltimore in October 2009 when she was living about an hour away in Maryland. Don’t let The Wire fool you, Baltimore is an awesome city! We went to the harbor, Edgar Allen Poe’s grave, dinner and bar hopping in Fells Point, and topped off the awesome day at The Brewer’s Art.
