Hard to believe I left Korea a year ago… Here are some pics from my last week there!

Was looking for another relatively healthy recipe so I pinned this Orange Chicken and Vegetable Stir-Fry.

This was my version… I kind of winged it. I cooked chicken and a pack of frozen stir-fry veggies, then added some orange juice, soy sauce, mandarin ginger poppy seed vinaigrette, and sesame ginger marinade. Served with teriyaki rice on the side!

1. How connected are you to your phone? Do you always have it on you?
I just got a smart phone about two months ago and I don’t think I’m that bad. Much better than some people I know anyway.

2. Would you be able to be away from your computer for an entire week?
Yes but I wouldn’t like it.

3. If you had to get rid of one of the following, which would it be and why? Cell phone, computer, or TV?
TV. I watch everything on the internet anyway.

4. Do you think you could ever live off the grid?
I could but I wouldn’t choose to.

5. Tell us about a time you disconnected from technology/the world and how you dealt with it. Was it good or bad?
Last summer when I was on the Trans-Mongolian Railway. Five days straight from Siberia to Moscow with no internet… Or showers. It was rough.

1. It’s National Bike Week… Do you own a bicycle? When did you last ride a bike?
No… The last time I rode a bicycle was when I lived in Korea about two years ago. But I was too scared to ride it anywhere so I sold it. I don’t like riding bikes around cars because I got hit by a van in a roundabout when I was cycling in Ireland. Now I only like to ride where there is no traffic! I am going to cycle on the Virginia Creeper trail next month and am super excited about that!

2. What’s something you learned in school that wasn’t part of the curriculum?
Online classes are a good time for a nap…

3. What’s a food you’ve never tried, but want to try? What’s a food you’ve tried and will never try again?
I have tried to be more adventurous with food lately as I’ve been a picky eater my whole life. One of my goals for this past year was to try five new foods, and I accomplished that within a few months (see my post here). I would still like to try some more exotic meats. Things that I have tried and still hate are coffee, celery, and seaweed.

4. Have you been more demanding on yourself lately or less? Why? Do you think that’s a good trend?
Um, neither…

5. Who is your favorite book, movie, or TV show villain?
That’s a good one… Hmmmmmmmm. The first one that pops in my head is Clay Morrow from Sons of Anarchy. I was so mad at him in season four that I was screaming at the TV.

6. How concerned are you about identity theft?
Not at all really…

7. Would you rather have an ordinary home in an extraordinary place or an extraordinary home in an ordinary place?
Both would be nice… I guess I’d go for an ordinary home in an extraordinary place. Then I could leave my home and do cool things. And everyone else could too!

1. Are you a heavy sleep, light sleeper, or somewhere in between?
In between I think… I might wake up easily but I can get back to sleep easily usually and can sleep just about anywhere if I’m tired enough.

2. Are you currently reading anything interesting?
I am currently reading Diamond in the Rough by Shawn Colvin which is much better than I thought it’d be… Picked it up for a book club and I thought I wouldn’t like it but I do so far. I also got Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris (the last Sookie Stackhouse novel) in at the library today and yesterday I won an autographed copy of Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick at book club (next month’s read). 3. Do you like to enter contests?
Yes! And I’ve won quite a few things from online giveaways (mostly books).

4. Are you good about taking time to do things you enjoy?
Oh yes… I will never be one of those “all work and no play” kind of person.

5. What’s your favorite food to cook on the grill or enjoy at a BBQ?
I like anything really… But I’d probably choose a burger.
