Weekend Update
I had a productive MORNING on Friday, which is rare… Picked up pottery I painted last weekend, bought some groceries, and found tennis shoes and a carry-on suitcase that I love. All before getting some Thai for lunch!
Saturday I went to the 67th Block House Steeplechase! It was cold, which was not cool, but we still had a good time! I brought cupcakes, pinwheels, and Mexican dip. I have to admit I only saw the last horse race… I was too busy having fun!
We Want to Know Wednesday
1. Were you born and raised in the town you live in, or did you move to that town?
I am currently living in my hometown of Saluda, NC. I lived in a lot of other places after graduating college (Prague, Czech Republic; Charleston, SC; Denton, TX; Seoul, Korea) but I am back home now and hope to stay here, or close to here.
2. What is your favorite thing about the town you live in?
It’s where my family and (some of my) friends are! Also it’s a great outdoorsy town/area with lots of things to do nearby: hiking, tubing, kayaking, ziplining, swimming, etc.
3. Are there any special annual events there?
Yes! We have our own annual holiday called Coon Dog Day in July with a parade and square dance. There’s also Hometown Christmas and the Saluda Arts Festival.
4. What don’t you like about your town?
It’s small so you have to drive to a bigger city to go to Wal-Mart, Target, a big grocery store, the movies, etc.
5. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Well I could live (almost) anywhere but for now I’m happy where I am. I would rather live near home and use my vacation time to travel!
Saturday 6
1. Have you ever wanted to compete in a race or marathon?
No!! Not for me. Sounds awful.
2. If you had to choose one, which activity would you most like to try: rock climbing, surfing, hang gliding, or skydiving?
I have been skydiving but I would love to try hang gliding! Specifically off the sand dunes at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
3. What’s the most extreme exercise you enjoy?
I wouldn’t call it extreme, but I enjoy skiing.
4. What specific exercise do you hate most?
Running? LOL.
5. What makes you most uncomfortable about a gym atmosphere?
I don’t mind going to the gym but I wouldn’t feel comfortable going to a class. I couldn’t keep up!
6. If you could afford to outfit the perfect gym/workout center in your own home, how often do you think you’d actually make use of it?
I think I would use it! While I watched TV… Which I do a lot.
Monday Morning Gossip / This Weekend, I… / Weekend Shenanigans
This weekend was awesome!
Friday I worked and Ruth and Baby Klay came over for taco night.
Saturday I met Adrienne for lunch at Chili’s and then we went shopping at Old Navy, Target, Michael’s, and World Market.
Then I met Cindy to see the movie Stoker. It was weird and creepy, but good!
Next I met Ruth, Michael, and Baby Klay for dinner at Papa’s & Beer.
Yesterday my mom and I went to Franklin, NC to visit my Aunt Laura and Uncle Jim (they have a cabin there but live in Florida). I made enchiladas and we played Scrabble. They don’t have internet or cell phone service there so I caught up on my reading too.
This morning it snowed!

Happiness 365: Day 83
Monday Morning Gossip / This Weekend, I… / Weekend Shenanigans
Friday wasn’t too eventful… I did storytime (they loved the dinosaur theme) and gave myself a mani.
Saturday was a non-stop day of fun! First, I met Breanna at The Square Root for lunch…
Then we went shopping! World Market was having a huge wine clearance so I got a few bottles ($2.25-$3.25 each!) then I found the perfect Steeplechase dress at Target!
We finished the day with beers at Chili’s.
But that’s not all! Then I met up with Adrienne and Cindy for drinks at W xyz bar.
Cindy and I then headed over to Hana to meet Chelsea, Emily, and Holly for dinner.
Next we hit up French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Rankin Vault Cocktail Lounge, and Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria.
Our last stop was Adam Dalton Distillery, where we enjoyed some photo booth fun!
Surprisingly, I was not that hungover on Sunday.
I made bangers and mash and Lucky Charms cupcakes for dinner with the fam.
