I highly recommend The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie and Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. I read Into Thin Air years ago. At first I didn’t think I would like it because the topic (climbing Everest) doesn’t really interest me. But it was engrossing! I read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian earlier this year. I laughed and cried and couldn’t put it down. Both are amazing but very different books (one is a YA novel; the other is non-fiction).
I have seen both of these on the store shelves and I just never really picked them up. Thanks for the recommendation! I will check them out.
